 Snakes March in 2010!...
The Snakes are one of the bands included on a compilation album to be released on Monday 15th March 2010.
'DIVIDED BY A COMMON LANGUAGE - A Collection of UK Americana' is being released by Clubhouse Records. It will feature 15 tracks from some of the best UK based Americana acts. The launch party is being held on 15th March at :

The Snakes' most recent release is a 5 song EP entitled EXTENDED PLAYER, featuring Spinning Top, Black Cat, Tinfoil Town, We Can Fly and Promised Land. Tracks can be downloaded from itunes.

Mark Lamarr played a track from the new EP. Hurray! Seems like he hasn't forgotten us since we played that live session for him ages ago. You remember... Pictures from
the session. Oh, and good old Bob Harris is on the case too, giving Extended Player a spin!
New
Album in the wings...
Work started on the new album in 2008 in a studio in Wiltshire, but came to a halt following the death of an old friend (RIP Nicky). After some work in our own home studio, we started things up again with a vengeance at a new studio in Wiltshire and are very nearly finished. We're aiming for a March 2010 release if we can get our elbows in gear!

THE SNAKES - EXTENDED PLAYER.
The Snakes are back with their long-awaited second release, Extended Player! While acknowledging some of their musical heroes with the title of this 5 track EP, The Snakes possess a unique style and swagger of their own, encompassing desert rock, bluesy balladry and an adept country shuffle. Their music provides a soundtrack to the dark introspection and sometimes world-weary lyrics of singer Simon Moor and guitarist Richard Davies.
Extended Player is a prelude to the release in 2010 of
The Snakes second full length album. Their first, "Songs from the Satellites" received great praise from their many fans, including Bob Harris and Mark Lamarr. The band subsequently played a session for Lamarr on his BBC radio 2 show.
